Clinical cadetships

A program for allied health students who want clinical exposure, mentorship and a paid pathway into practice, alongside their tertiary study.

The cadetship in one minute

The OnePointHealth Clinical Cadetship is a program for allied health undergraduates who want more than a textbook. Across the program, you sit alongside experienced practitioners, attend our internal education sessions, and build clinical skills in real practice settings. The structure is scaffolded: each stage builds on the one before, so you finish the program ready to step into a graduate role rather than figuring it out on your day one of practice.

Most of our cadets join the program in their middle years of study and stay until graduation. Many continue on with us as new graduates afterwards. Some of our most senior practitioners and clinical leads started here.

A great place to work

OnePointHealth Group is Great Place to Work certified and ranked #2 on Best Workplaces in Healthcare and Social Assistance, 2025.

How the program works

Four parts to the cadetship, each one building on the last.

Clinical exposure

Time across our health centres watching, learning and assisting with real patient care. You see how a multidisciplinary team actually works together day to day, not just in a textbook.

Mentorship

Each cadet is paired with a senior practitioner from your discipline. Regular one-to-one meetings, clinical case discussions and direct feedback on the skills you are building.

The OneTeam education program

Our internal curriculum, opened up to cadets. Clinical workshops, soft skills sessions, full team grand rounds, team building, and external speakers across the year.

A paid, flexible position alongside your studies

Cadets in our program may be offered a flexible paid position that fits around your university timetable. You gain experience and income at the same time, without compromising your study.

What we offer

Competitive remuneration

Competitive salaries with bonus pathways, healthcare service discounts for you and your family, and a staff recognition program that runs all year.
