Nutrition support that fits the life you actually lead
Dietetics funded through your NDIS plan, in person or by telehealth. No GP referral needed.
Medicare, NDIS, DVA, WorkCover and private health funds accepted.

Can I use my NDIS plan for a dietitian?
Yes, where nutrition support relates to your disability and the goals in your plan. No GP referral is needed. We invoice your plan manager or the NDIA directly. Dietetics is available at Penrith, Springwood, Katoomba and Ryde, and by telehealth anywhere in Australia.

What nutrition support can the NDIS fund?
Nutrition sits closer to daily function than most people expect, and that is usually where the NDIS funding sits.
For some participants it is about building the skills to shop, plan and prepare food independently.
What it does not fund is general dieting or weight loss. That is a private appointment, and you do not need a referral for it.
The line is drawn by the goals in your plan. If you are unsure whether what you need fits, tell us and we will check honestly.
Am I eligible?
You do not need to work out which budget your funding sits in before you call. Tell us what you are after and how your plan is managed, and we will check whether it fits. If it does not, we will tell you rather than book you in and sort it out later.
You can usually access dietetics through the NDIS if:
How NDIS dietetics works
Send us an enquiry.
Tell us what you are after, your NDIS number and how your plan is managed. No GP referral is needed. We check the fit.
We confirm that the support matches your plan goals and that the funding is available. We set up a service agreement.
This sets out what we will provide, what it costs and how cancellations work, so there are no surprises. We invoice your plan manager or the NDIA directly.
If you are self-managed, we invoice you and you claim it back.
What our dietitians help with
Whether the NDIS will fund your appointments depends on the goals in your plan, not on the condition itself. Your plan and the NDIA decide that.
Connected care
Eating well affects almost everything else, which is why dietetics often sits alongside other supports in a plan.
We work with the people already in your corner.
With your consent, your dietitian can coordinate with your support coordinator, your GP or another provider involved in mealtimes and daily routines.
Telehealth works well here.
Dietetics suits video appointments, which means you can see the same dietitian wherever you are and are not limited to the centres nearest you.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a GP referral for NDIS dietetics?
No. The NDIS does not require one.
Can the NDIS fund a dietitian for weight loss?
Not on its own. If weight is related to your disability or to a medication, it will form part of the plan. For general weight support you can book privately without a referral.
Is telehealth an option?
Yes, and dietetics works well by video. Telehealth appointments are arranged by phone or enquiry.
Can a support worker or family member join the appointment?
Yes, and it often helps, particularly where someone else is involved in shopping, cooking or mealtimes.
Can I use my plan if it is NDIA-managed?
Yes. We are a registered NDIS provider, so participants with NDIA-managed plans can use us.
Do I need to keep a food diary first?
It helps, but it is not required. Your dietitian will tell you what would be useful to track afterwards.
