Foot and lower limb care

Podiatry to help you move better, every step of the way

Sore feet, heel pain or an ache that slows you down doesn’t have to be something you live life around. Our podiatry team across Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Ryde looks at how your feet and lower limbs are working, then works with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals.

Medicare, NDIS, DVA and private health funds accepted.

What is podiatry?

Podiatry is the assessment and treatment of the feet, ankles and lower limbs. A podiatrist can help with pain, skin and nail problems, movement and gait concerns, and foot complications that can come with conditions like diabetes.

Our goal is to keep you moving comfortably and doing the things that matter to you. Whether your goal is running another marathon, getting through a workday comfortably, or keeping up with the kids, we tailor your care around what matters most to you.

Connected care

Connected care means your podiatrist is part of one team, working from the same plan. Here is what that looks like for you.

We start with what you want to get back to.

Not what hurts. What you would be doing if your feet were not slowing you down: walking the dog, getting back on the tools, keeping up with the grandkids. That goal shapes your plan, your practitioners, and the way we measure progress.

Sometimes a foot problem is not only a foot problem.

Heel pain can start higher up. We work out where your issue lies before we recommend a plan, rather than defaulting to the service you came in for. When it supports your care, your podiatrist may involve other members of the team for additional expertise, with your consent.

Your care travels with you.

Move between our centres and your plan comes with you, so you are not starting over each visit. We only share information beyond your treating team, such as with your GP, with your consent, so you stay in control of who sees what.

Our funding pathways

Podiatry can be accessed privately or through several funding pathways. For current private fees, contact your nearest OnePointHealth centre.

Medicare (EPC / CDM)

If your GP refers you under an Enhanced Primary Care or Chronic Disease Management plan, you may be entitled to Medicare-rebated podiatry sessions.

Learn more

NDIS

Podiatry is available to eligible NDIS participants, depending on your plan and goals.

Learn more

DVA

Gold and White card holders can access podiatry with a valid referral.

Learn more

Private health funds

If you hold extras cover that includes podiatry, you may be able to claim on the day, depending on your level of cover.

Funding pathways are listed as information to help you plan. Eligibility is set by each scheme.

Running assessments and sports podiatry

If running is leaving you sore, or you just want to run further and feel stronger doing it, a running assessment shows you why. You walk or run while we capture how your feet land and how your weight moves through each step. Then your podiatrist talks you through what is going on, in plain language, and you leave with a clear plan.

A look at what a standard check cannot show: how your feet land, where the load goes, and how your left and right sides compare

Your results explained in person, not a printout you take home and puzzle over

A practical plan built around your goal, whether that is less pain or more kilometres

Footwear and orthotic advice matched to how you actually move, with our on-site footwear store on hand

Who it is for

Runners chasing a goal, anyone whose feet, knees or hips flare up once they get moving, and people finding their way back after an injury.
You do not need a referral to book.

Availability: Available at our Penrith and Ryde centres.

Made by us. Stocked by us. Worn by you

Great care is not just what happens in your appointment. It is what supports you in the thousands of steps you take between visits. Our footwear store and orthotics lab are both part of the OnePointHealth team, designed to keep your treatment working long after you have walked out the door.

Shoes our podiatrists wear and recommend

Footwear shapes how you move, how you recover and how comfortable you feel at the end of the day. Our podiatry team chooses the range stocked at our footwear store, which means the shoes on the shelf are the ones we genuinely recommend to our patients.

  • Selected and reviewed by our podiatry team
  • Fitted in person with biomechanical advice on hand
  • Refreshed each season to reflect what is working for our patients

Frequently asked questions

A podiatrist assesses and treats the feet, ankles and lower limbs. That covers pain, skin and nail concerns, gait and movement, and foot care for conditions such as diabetes. They also prescribe orthotics and footwear where these will help.

You do not need a referral to book privately or to claim through most private health funds. A GP referral is needed for Medicare-rebated podiatry under an EPC or CDM plan, and for DVA. NDIS access depends on your plan.

You may be able to, if your GP refers you under an Enhanced Primary Care or Chronic Disease Management plan. These plans cover a set number of allied health sessions per year. Our team can talk you through how it works when you book.

Podiatry is available to eligible NDIS participants, depending on your plan and goals, and to DVA Gold and White card holders with a valid referral.

Yes. If getting to a centre is difficult, our mobile podiatry team can come to you. You can read more on our home visits page.

Yes. Where they will help, our podiatrists prescribe custom orthotics designed around your feet and how you move. You can read more on our orthotics page.

Bring the shoes you wear most often, any referral or plan details (Medicare, NDIS or DVA), and a list of any medications. If your concern relates to sport or work, it helps to mention what you are trying to get back to.
