Proud to support the communities we serve

What does a dietitian do?

A dietitian is a university-qualified health professional who turns nutrition science into practical advice. Dietitians help you manage medical conditions through food, such as diabetes, coeliac disease, IBS and high cholesterol, and build eating habits that are realistic for your life. At our Ropes Crossing health centre, that means practical nutrition support close to home for families across St Marys and the wider Western Sydney area.

How Dietetics at Ropes Crossing may help you

What you can expect

From your first appointment to review, seeing a dietitian at OnePointHealth Ropes Crossing follows a clear, practical path built around you.

Tell us what is going on.

Book online or call the Ropes Crossing centre, and bring any GP referral and recent blood tests if you have them.

A thorough assessment.

Your dietitian reviews your health, your goals and how you eat now, and explains what will make the biggest difference.

A practical plan.

You leave with realistic, evidence-based steps in writing, built around your life, not a one-size-fits-all diet.

Review and adjust.

We check how you are going and adjust the plan as your needs and goals change.

One Team Behind Your Care

Behind every appointment is a team of practitioners who know each other, trust each other and work together for you. Across seven clinics and nine disciplines, our team shares expertise, coordinates treatment plans and celebrates your progress together.

Connected care

Connected care means your dietitian is part of one team, working from the same plan. Here is what that looks like for you.

We start with what you want to achieve.

Not just what to cut out. What you would like to feel: steadier blood sugar, more energy day to day, or simply making confident choices again. That goal shapes your plan, your practitioners, and the way we measure progress.

When it supports your care, your practitioner may involve other members of the team to provide additional expertise.

Your dietitian may recommend seeing an exercise physiologist or, with your consent, loop in a psychologist. A second set of eyes tailored to your individual needs.

Your care travels with you.

Move between our centres and your plan comes with you, so you are not starting over each visit. We’ll only share information beyond your treating team, such as with your GP, with your consent, so you stay in control of who sees what.

Our funding pathways

Dietetics at Ropes Crossing can be accessed privately or through several funding pathways. For current private fees, contact the Ropes Crossing centre.

Medicare (EPC / CDM)
