Proud to support the communities we serve

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of how your body moves. A physiotherapist helps with pain, injury, and recovery after surgery, using hands-on treatment and exercise to get you moving better and back to what you do. At our Ryde health centre, that means evidence-based care close to home for the North Shore, from weekend athletes to people recovering after an operation.

How Physiotherapy at Ryde may help you

Move with less pain.

Hands-on treatment and a plan to settle the pain that is holding you back.

Recover from injury.

Support to recover from sports and everyday injuries, and to lower the chance of them returning.

Get back to work.

Clear return-to-work plans, with the WorkCover paperwork handled for you.

Bounce back after surgery.

Post-surgical rehabilitation that picks up where the hospital leaves off.

Build strength that lasts.

A home program in writing, not just verbal instructions, so progress carries on between visits.

A plan built around your goal.

Return to work or return to sport, at a pace that suits you.

Conditions we help with

Our Ryde physiotherapists work with a wide range of injuries and conditions, from sudden injuries to long-term pain and recovery after surgery.

What you can expect

From your first appointment to review, physiotherapy at OnePointHealth Ryde follows a clear, practical path built around you.

Tell us what is going on.

Book online or call the Ryde centre, and tell us what happened and what you would like to get back to.

A thorough assessment.

Your physiotherapist looks at how you move, works out what is driving the problem, and explains what they find in plain language.

Hands-on treatment and a plan.

You start treatment and leave with a clear plan, including a home program in writing so progress continues between visits.

Review and progress.

We track how you are going and adjust the plan, with a clear path back to work, sport or daily life.

One Team Behind Your Care

Behind every appointment is a team of practitioners who know each other, trust each other and work together for you. Across seven clinics and nine disciplines, our team shares expertise, coordinates treatment plans and celebrates your progress together.

Connected care

Connected care means your physiotherapist is part of one team, working from the same plan. Here is what that looks like for you.

We start with what you want to get back to.

Not just what hurts. What you would be doing if the pain or injury were not in the way: back on the court, back in training, or through a day without thinking about it. That goal shapes your plan, your practitioners, and the way we measure progress.

When it supports your care, your practitioner may involve other members of the team to provide additional expertise.

Your physio may recommend seeing an exercise physiologist or, with your consent, loop in a psychologist. A second set of eyes tailored to your individual needs.

Your care travels with you.

Move between our centres and your plan comes with you, so you are not starting over each visit. We only share information beyond your treating team, such as with your GP or, for a work injury, your insurer, with your consent, so you stay in control of who sees what.

Our funding pathways

Physiotherapy at Ryde can be accessed privately or through several funding pathways. For current private fees, contact the Ryde centre.

Medicare (EPC / CDM)

If your GP refers you under an Enhanced Primary Care or Chronic Disease Management plan, you may be entitled to Medicare-rebated physiotherapy sessions.

Learn more

WorkCover

If you have been injured at work, we accept WorkCover referrals and manage the paperwork with your insurer, with a clear return-to-work plan.

Learn more

DVA

Gold and White card holders can access physiotherapy with a valid referral.

Learn more

NDIS

Physiotherapy is available to eligible NDIS participants, depending on your plan and goals.

Learn more

Private health funds

If your extras cover includes physiotherapy, you may be able to claim on the day, depending on your level of cover.

Funding pathways are listed as information to help you plan. Eligibility is set by each scheme.
