What is strength and conditioning?

Strength and conditioning is structured, supervised training to build strength, power and resilience. At OnePointHealth, programs are designed and run by our Accredited Exercise Physiology team, so your training is informed by how your body works and any injury history. It is built around your goals, whether that is general strength, return to sport, or training for performance, rather than a one-size-fits-all workout.

How Strength and Conditioning at Penrith may help you

Build strength safely.

Progressive programs guided by qualified practitioners.

Return to sport.

Bridge the gap between finishing rehab and full performance.

Improve performance.

Training built around your sport or goal.

Train with guidance.

Supervised technique and load, not guesswork.

Built on your history.

Programs that account for injuries and how you move.

A clear plan.

Structured progression, with everything written down.

What we work on

Our strength and conditioning programs are built around your goals. Strength looks different for everyone. For one person it might mean returning to competitive sport. For another it might mean lifting grandchildren, hiking on weekends or feeling confident walking into a gym for the first time. Our programs are built around what strength means to you.

What you can expect

From your first session onward, strength and conditioning at OnePointHealth Penrith follows a clear, practical path built around you.

Tell us your goal.

Book online or call the Penrith centre, and tell us what you are training for.

An assessment.

Your practitioner reviews your strength, how you move, and any injury history.

A program built for you.

You start a structured program with guided technique and progression.

Review and progress.

We track how you are going and adjust your program as you build.

One Team Behind Your Care

Behind every appointment is a team of practitioners who know each other, trust each other and work together for you. Across seven clinics and nine disciplines, our team shares expertise, coordinates treatment plans and celebrates your progress together.

Connected care

Connected care means your practitioner is part of one team, working from the same plan. Here is what that looks like for you.

We start with what you want to get back to.

Not just lifting heavier. What you are training for: a return to your sport, a stronger body for work and life, or simply training with confidence again. That goal shapes your program.

When it supports your care, your practitioner may involve other members of the team to provide additional expertise.

Your program may run alongside a physiotherapist while you finish rehab, or, with your consent, loop in a dietitian to support your training. A second set of eyes tailored to your individual needs.

Your care travels with you.

Move between our services and your plan comes with you, so you are not starting over each time. We’ll only share information beyond your treating team, such as with your GP, with your consent, so you stay in control of who sees what.

Our funding pathways

Strength and conditioning is generally a private service. For current fees, contact the Penrith centre. If you are managing a chronic condition or recovering from an injury, clinical exercise physiology may suit you better, and can be accessed through Medicare, WorkCover, DVA, NDIS or private health. Our team can help you choose the right option.

Funding pathways are listed as information to help you plan. Eligibility is set by each scheme.
